The landscape as an experiment.

"Marsfeld LXXVII" measures 70 x 50 cm, is made from paint remnants, and was created as an experiment. The paint remnants used for this painting are colorful. Acrylic paints, oil paints, and varnish remnants interact in various combinations of color, shape, and size. The sizes of the paint remnants range from very fine dust to paint chunks about 0.5 cm in diameter. It is the size differences of the paint remnants that allow for a composition. In this case, it is a landscape with a crater from a bird's-eye view. Below are some key details about the painting.

Interesting paintings made from leftover paint.

From a distance, the piece initially appears to depict an earthy or sandy, beach-like surface. As you take a few steps closer to the painting, you realize that it is entirely colorful and made up of small paint remnants. The intriguing painting becomes more concrete with prolonged viewing: thoughts of wind, water, and eventually the morphology of a crater in the landscape emerge. The dried paint on the palette - the "past" painting - serves as a stylistic device.

The delicate landscape for an interesting atmosphere at home.

"Marsfeld LXXVII" is most impressive in a bright room. The unusual spatiality - the haptics (three-dimensional) combined with the contrasts (two-dimensional) - creates a very interesting effect. Atmosphere...which can only be gradually explored. The spatial effect is extremely subtle, giving the painting a very fine, elegant, and stimulating quality. The delicate landscape measures 70 x 50 cm.

Mars fields can also be presented in rows.

Good to know.

Binder as adhesive.

The special adhesivesThe cotton and the binder used in these experiments ensure that the paint residues adhere very well to the canvas. If individual paint residues do happen to fall off - perhaps due to transport or curious children's fingers - it is not a big deal: All 'Mars Field' paintings consist of multiple layers. adhered paint residueso that the canvas remains covered even with minor damage.

Paintings on the website.

I always strive to present an authentic representation of my work on the website. The photographs of the paintings are taken in the studio or next door in the living room.Nonetheless, the colors you see on your monitor may slightly differ from the actual colors on the painting. The images presenting the painting in the room were generated using the "Smartist" app. This app displays paintings in the exact correct proportions to the room and can also make artworks appear framed in any style.
