A source of inspiration in art: contemporary painting on the paint box.
The mental leaps that the paint box as a symbol generates often lead viewers towards childhood. The title "On the Road" is an invitation to steer one's own associations in a different direction without losing the personal touch. The paint box, painted in a contemporary manner, becomes a source of inspiration - from concrete to abstract.
A contemporary painting - experimental painting on the wall sculpture.
With my experimental painting on the oversized paint box, contemporary object art is created: a painted sculpture for the wall. Through the juxtaposition of graceful color surfaces, Tensions in Form and Color On one side, the primary colors yellow, red, and blue are accompanied by orange, green, black, pink, and white. These colors can be seen in this or a similar manner on almost every paint box. On the other side, the "used" paint box compartments, the colorful gaps, and the colored border area. The spatial, partly complementary effect of the colors is further enhanced by the real shadows created by the paint box.
The construction of the paint box.
This paint box was made from wooden strips, canvases, and cardboard. The painting object "Unterwegs III" measures 92x80x3 cm and was created in 2017 in Wiesbaden. I initially built the paint box with a chipboard and different types of strips, partially glued with adhesive and partially screwed. The small round paint compartments are deep cup lids. The lids were framed in equally high wooden strips, the resulting gaps filled with mounting foam and sealed with cardboard before being glued onto the canvas. To create an as realistic as possible surface, the paint containers and paint box compartments were primed with adhesive concrete and thick layers of acrylic paint. Subsequently, the primer was "sealed" with glue.
Acrylic and oil paints, adhesive concrete, and glue were used for processing and painting the artwork.

Interesting facts about the presentation of the painting "Unterwegs III".
There is no "up" or "down", the painting can be displayed in any orientation. Therefore, the painting is signed on the back. The glossy varnish protects the artwork from color changes. If there is a lot of light opposite "Unterwegs III" - for example, through a window - the glossy varnish can be replaced by me with a matte varnish. You achieve optimal presentation when there is space around the painting. The width of the wall surface should be at least 1.5 and at most 4.5 meters (including the painting).
