A source of inspiration in art: the large-format paint box "Discussion Round."

The mental leaps that the paint box as a symbol generates often lead many viewers towards childhood. The title "Discussion Round" is an invitation to steer one's own associations in a different direction, without losing the personal touch. The large-format paint box, painted in bright colors, becomes a source of inspiration – from concrete to abstract.

The canvas as the base for the large painting object.

The large paint box was constructed from wooden slats, small canvases, and chipboard. The painting object "Discussion Round" measures 101 x 101 x 2 cm and was created in 2014 in Mainz. I initially glued the paint box with a chipboard and different types of slats and partially screwed them together. The paint compartments are treated small canvases. To create the most realistic surface possible, they were covered with lightweight panels and scraped before being painted. Thick layers of acrylic paint were used for the priming before being "sealed" with glue. Acrylic and oil paints, glue, and a final varnish were used for the painting and treatment of the artwork.

Art between painting and object.

With my experimental painting on the oversized paint box, modern, abstract object art emerges: a painted sculpture for the wall. The juxtaposition of graceful color fields creates Tension fields in form and color . On one side, the primary colors yellow, red, and blue accompanied by orange, green, black, pink, and white. These colors can be seen on almost every paint box in this or a similar way. On the other side, the "used" paint box compartments, the colorful interspaces, and the colored border area. The spatial, partly complementary effect of the colors is further enhanced by the shadows cast by the box. The result of this type of art can be described as a wall sculpture.

What moves me as an artist - Associations and imagination through art.

The result of experimental art, the Symbolic power of the paint box as well as the assistance of a title ("Discussion Round") invite you to associate. When imagination – once sparked – is stimulated in many different ways in the viewer, it moves me as an artist.

The delivery (Wiesbaden and surroundings) or shipping of the artwork is free worldwide. If needed, a different appointment can be arranged. During the (Hessian) school holidays, there may be delays due to vacations. Delivery pauses are communicated in the header of the homepage.

Interesting facts about the presentation of the painting "Discussion Round."

There is no "top" or "bottom," "Discussion Round" can be displayed in any orientation. Therefore, the painting is signed on the back. The glossy varnish protects the artwork from color changes. If there is a lot of light – for example, through windows – opposite the wall sculpture, the glossy varnish can be replaced with a matte varnish by me. You achieve the optimal presentation of the painting when there is space around it. The width of the wall surface should be (including painting) at least 2.5 and at most 5 meters.
