The colorful painting depicts an abstract animal motif: The goldfish made of color patches.

"Rare Goldfish" from the series "From the Light" features colorfulcolor patchesstrokes, paint drops, and imprints of water-mixable oil paint. The color patches form anabstract composition and simultaneously hint at a goldfish. The lightness of the animal motif in the painting is mainly achieved through the reduced painting technique.

The lightness of the painting leads to a magical effect.

The lightness of the painting is created by the brightness of the white-primed canvas combined with the colorful, gracefully applied color patches. These create an exciting, seemingly random composition. The grace of the color patches is crucial for the calm yet stimulating perception of the composition, as it allows the viewer to shift perspectives even after prolonged viewing. Parts of the color patches define the shape of the goldfish, while the colors partially reflect the spatiality. The magic arises between the concrete outline of the fish and the abstract composition of the color patches.

Viewing the abstract painting and the concrete motif creates an interaction of perception.

Although the painting is experimental, it is "slowed down" at certain boundaries. The outline of the goldfish acts as a barrier when mixing the colors. This makes the motif definitely perceptible. The choice of colors is also not entirely random: the animal motif is shown in the colors of itself and its surroundings. This results in spontaneous form and color compositions within a concept. Since the motif is only built over part of the boundaries of the color mixtures, the eye repeatedly shifts to the abstract overall composition.

Interesting facts about modern painting in "Rare Goldfish."

Despite the many colors, the modern animal motif is rather subtle in its effect and can be enjoyed both from a distance and up close.

The painting is signedadditionally, the edges are painted white. The artwork can thus be immediately displayed - with two nails in the wall. If you prefer to have a frame made for the painting, I recommend visiting a specialty store near you or ordering a frame online (30 x 24 cm is a standard size, so there will be a wide range of frames available).

The presentation of the artwork is authentic but not perfect.

The photos you see above were taken by me - as well as I could. Since I am not a professional photographer, the colors you see may slightly differ from the original. Here and there, the lighting or resolution could certainly be better. I strive to present an authentic image of the artworks.

The photos showing the painting in a room were created using the "Smartist" app. This app can frame paintings and allows for a tidy, chic presentation in different rooms. The size ratio of the painting to the room is accurately represented. The painting is sold without a frame..

However, feel free to visit me at the studio or at ARTLET if you would like to take a look at the original.
