Schmiertafel
Schmiertafel – Symbolische Ölmalerei über vertraute Zeichen, deren Bedeutung und Stabilität ins Wanken geraten.
Zur KollektionMy work operates in the field of abstract art and modern, contemporary painting. At its core is an intensive engagement with color, form, and material – between expressive gesture, controlled process, and open experiment.
I work on large-format paintings as well as focused series that are suitable as contemporary art for the living room, for private collections, and for a considered interior design with contemporary art. My paintings are not intended as decoration, but as autonomous pictorial spaces that generate atmosphere, tension, and depth.
Growing up between Bad Segeberg, Barcelona, Boston, and Frankfurt, I developed an early passion for drawing and painting. After studying in England and Germany, I have been working as a freelance artist since 1997. My works have been shown in solo and group exhibitions in Berlin, Antwerp, Frankfurt, Wiesbaden, and Mainz, among others.
In my more recent series I explore different states of color and perception:
Large-format art between sculpture and painting. Modern, abstract art in which color itself becomes the subject. As system, as memory, and as open experiment, multi-layered pictorial spaces unfold that oscillate between structure and freedom.
This series presents abstract landscape paintings in which order and dissolution encounter one another. Planes, lines, and movements create tension-filled spaces that recall landscape without depicting it.
Abstract landscapes that emerge from concentration and calm. Repeatedly reworking the color green opens up new nuances, depths, and moods – a focused dialogue with a single color.
In this series, organic structures arise through experimental painting. Layering, overlapping, and processes of growth shape picture grounds that appear both lively and open.
Gesture, energy, and controlled chance are at the center of these experimental works. Paint is hurled, guided, and slowed – as moment, movement, and event.
A reduced animal motif emerges from bright pictorial spaces. Transitions, restraint, and the deliberate use of light and surface allow depth to become visible without fully articulating it.
These works offer insights into contemporary painting – ideas, processes, and developments beyond classical motifs.
