The Landscape as an Experiment.
"Marsfeld LIII" measures 12 x 9 inches, is made from leftover paint, and emerged from an experiment. The leftover paint used for this painting is colorful. Acrylics, oil paints, and paint residues interact in a variety of colors, shapes, and sizes. The sizes of the paint residues range from fine dust to paint chunks about 0.08 inches in diameter. It is the size differences of the paint residues that allow for a composition. In this case, a landscape with a subtle crater from a bird's-eye view.
An abstract painting made from leftover paint.
From a distance, the piece initially appears to depict a pink, beach-like surface. As you take a few steps closer to the painting, you realize that it's actually more colorful and consists of small remnants of paint. The abstract painting becomes more concrete the longer you look at it: thoughts of wind, water, and eventually the morphology of a crater in the landscape start to emerge.
An abstract artwork for the niche.
"Marsfield LIII" is a small painting. It looks best in a small room, hallway, on the stairs, or in a niche. The unusual spatial quality - the genuine haptic (three-dimensional) combined with the contrasts (two-dimensional) - in conjunction with the simple composition creates a very original and interesting effect. The spatial and compositional effect of the abstract artwork is extremely subtle, creating a very fine, elegant, and stimulating impression. The small format works best in a small, bright niche.

The "Mars Fields" look very elegant in vertical or horizontal rows. This way, even larger rooms can be decorated with the small-format Mars fields. When it comes to pictures hanging side by side, it's important to note that their differences are crucial. A crater that appears yellow-brown from a distance, situated between beach-like reddish wave structures and a grayish-looking whirlpool, is more visually inspiring than several craters of the same size next to each other.
These can quickly be overlooked as patterns. Also interesting is the price. The images on the theme of 'Mars Field' are not exactly cheap, but they are extremely affordable considering their quality. For one person, this means a relatively risk-free entry into the world of contemporary art. For another, it might be an opportunity to modernize, make smaller spaces interesting, and do so inexpensively. With this kind of art, you make a subtle statement. The paint remnants alone, as the defining element of the image, give your decor something truly original. Don't hesitate to request an art consultation from me before purchasing any paintings.
Good to know.
The special adhesive, the cotton and the binder used in these experiments ensure that the paint residues adhere very well to the canvas. If some paint residues do fall off—perhaps due to transport or curious children's fingers—it's not a big deal: All 'Mars Field' paintings are made up of multiple layers, so that the canvas remains covered even in case of minor damage.
I always strive to present an authentic picture of my work on the website. The photographs of the paintings are taken in the studio or next door in the living room. However, the colors you see on your monitor may slightly differ from the actual colors on the painting. The images presenting the painting in a room were generated using the "Smartist" app. This app displays paintings in the exact correct proportions to the room and can also make artworks appear framed as desired.
